i wondered at the message on the rocks BIRDS AREN'T REAL and the crossed out bird. and i didn't ask. then i saw the sticker on a lamp post. wow, BIRDS AREN'T REAL is real. it comes from nixon's statement that americans need to be spied on for their own good so they created surveillance birds. today when we were walking round the point we heard a sound we couldn't place thinking it was a strange bird or a creature in the water but it had a menacing tone. we both looked up at the same time and saw a drone looking down at us. it looked nothing like a bird. birds, friends, are real, and they sing the songs of their species in sweet reality.
