little bear is better. limping slightly, a little tender yet, but ready to go. we were walking along 56th street and someone came out of a big condominium building with her dog who promptly pooped and little bear rolled in the meager grass a few feet away and someone else came out of the building and said not to the other person but to me the park is across the street, and i said grass is grass and we can walk anywhere we like just like you and she said ok, i'll just keep paying my assessments and i said you don't pay assessments on city property, you pay taxes just like me, so everyone can walk around here and she said ok, "have a nice day" and i said you too! and if you have anything mean to say, please keep it to yourself. and we diverged, her through the park, and me and little bear proceeding down the city verger and then to the point where we saw our old friend pao and talked about mister passing and little bear arriving and then the person who said the park is over there came and said are you the fellow i spoke to before about your dog? and i said yes, that was me, and she said i'm so sorry, i've been thinking about it the whole way and i want to apologize, i was wrong, and i don't want to be the bitter old lady, and she smiled and i smiled and the hair on my arms stood up and waved and i said thank you very much i really appreciate that and then we both smiled warmly and wished each other a lovely day.
