i was stirring the pot on the stove and penny leapt out of the cat box and tore around the flat and back into the kitchen crashing through the cat bowls and leaping through the air and smack into my thigh and butt with claws she had minutes ago unsheathed in bed extended in flight piercing my flesh as i emitted a terrified scream. so goes the peace.

a minute later as i swabbed my bottom with peroxide she lay in bed looking at me like i'm crazy and a minute later she curls up in her rocking chair peacefully.
