i saw the hurt gull yesterday and well i admit that i went swimming and forgot the gull. i wonder if my mind shut the trauma out. well today the gull was sitting by the garbage bins and i saw the caretaker of the bowling green and asked him. he tried to give the gull food and water and he knew about the bird collision folks but didn't have the number so i called r. and she called and arranged to rescue the gull. well i failed to check my phone which added more time for the poor gull and well when i got home i sighed i'm sorry to say because i was tired and hungry, but we gathered up ourselves and a box etc and when we got there the gull was still in the same place and raised her wings but was calm when i wrapped her in a towel and rested her in the box. she tapped the box on the ride but didn't thrash around i think she knew we were trying to help though she was surely exhausted too from her ordeal. the bird rescuers say she was probably hit by a vehicle on the infernal highway, and then to survive and linger in the trauma for days...we dropped her off with a bird collision monitor who will keep her overnight and then she'll go to the center and i'm sad to think she will likely die but as soon as we got back home a big thunderstorm came and i was glad the hurt gull wasn't left out in the bowling green parking lot by the trash bins in the rain.
