i read that coyote who bit a boy had been shot by a bb gun and will now probably be destroyed. when human animals and animal animals are violent it's either because they were taught violence by their society or they've been victims of violence. if a coyote is shot and doesn't die what do you think it will do. we make violence with violence. in other places coyote are shot for fun and sport. they come to the city because of the destruction of natural habitat, the same way people come to the city for work, because there is little work left in the rural parts. little nature, little work, and corporations free to spread toxins everywhere. killing for profit, that's the culture we're trapped in. i feel awful today. i have to take care of mister and i'm glad i can, but i just feel fucking awful today. it's not because of the coyote and the boy, and yet it is, for everything that is so wrong with us is expressed in that.

now i fear the human hysteria, i fear that people will start shooting coyote, and dogs too. people's fear spreads like fire. in this culture of fear and hate no appeal to sanity will apply.
