save the trees, and the park where they live.

                            SAVE JACKSON PARK!

RELOCATE THE OBAMA CENTER TO PRIVATE, VACANT LAND

JOIN US:

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26.,
11 am to 3 pm
61st and Stony Island Avenue

Protect Our Parks and members of the Daniel Burnham brigade will be tying ribbons around hundreds of trees slated to be removed to make way for the Obama Presidential Center (OPC). We wish to demonstrate the impact the OPC will have on Jackson Park and give people a chance to get together to learn more about the issues.

this was posted on good neighbors and immediately attacked as political, not fit for the general interest of the good neighbors community. i and others disagreed, the park is for all of us, including the apolitical trees. as is so mind-numbingly common in america, dissent from the status quo of mercenary interest is shunted aside as irrelevant or worse, radical, and political. if trees are political, then i reckon everything on earth is political, including generally, naturally apolitical me.
