the wind brought the waves today. i lowered mister gently into the water and climbed in after and he followed me, though he hesitated slightly. we swam out and i watched his head rise up and down behind the swells. he swims so well, i think the water will continue to be his element when gravity ashore weighs increasingly on his bones.
