it was big drama like on tv at pebble beach. popo helicopters, coast guard boats, firetrucks and ambulances all gathered looking for a swimmer in trouble. i figured it was just some chucklehead high in a highrise with binoculars and floaters in his eyes calling 9-11. they milled around and then dispersed leaving a couple firetrucks to spray their hoses for fun. then i just read there was a disturbed man in distress who jumped in the shallows off the point and hurt his leg, so i guess some of that money wasn't a total waste.
