i started watching the movie alpha last night and almost stopped because i thought it was going to be a dumb computer generated vehicle of platitudes and then i stopped and i was going to return it today but i started watching again and i realized i was wrong- it's good. it's still cgi, but also real, whereas i started another movie, zoe, about artificial human companions that seemed phony as all get out and that i don't hafta return, i just toss it back in the stream. but this movie shows alpha, who was the alpha wolf, becoming the first dog. when the boy throws a stick to chase him off alpha brings the stick back to him.
