james baldwin left america when he felt the hate taking root in him. the hate is greater than ever now. 

i was so happy for lulu swimming, but the swimming is over now. she drinks too much water and she leaks. i walk her after and i put her in the kitchen just in case, but they let her out and on the bed she pees. so we're back to dry hot land. 

and otherwise i just feel hopeless today.
