i have been thinking about how dogs see for a good while now and my thinking is that dogs see in a way that isn't like us humans but is more continuous with the environment. we see ourselves as entities separate from the environment and each other. dogs see a continuous world, not our world but the real world. i can't wish myself other than myself and human, but i would hope that consciousness is not limited by the human, though everything seems to be caught in the human paradigm, at least the humans. how do dogs do it, how do they negotiate the human world yet remain true to their nature? alexandria ocasio-cortez was saying non-attachment was the way she can negotiate the human world of power and illusion. maybe that's what dogs do, and maybe that's what can save us from ourselves. to be in it but not of it.
