saw the hottest august and frontline pandemic. there was nothing new in the frontline doc, so it was rather boring if you can say that about a global pandemic documentary, and you can, sheltered in from the world in desperate need. the hottest august was a poem document about the banal and terrifying state of the the people in the city of new york in august 2017, before the pandemic, and a meditation on the heat and fear ratcheting up a year into the final trump before the pandemic hit us like a ton of neoliberal bricks. it was beta than the pandemic one, it seems limned with nostalgia, people meeting, talking about the weather, the fear almost normal back then.
