i got a note sent to somebody else i don't know that said i'm and expert on jackson park and birds and had written to the audubon woman who also is a paid consultant to the obama fundation. i wrote the guy to clarify i'm not an expert on the birds or anything just passionate about some things. like birds that sing but have no voice in things like habitat destruction and the privatization of common green space. the guy wrote back to say he knows like 30 birds and sent me two books, zen economics and against charity. i wrote again and asked how he's doing in the pandemic. no response. then i put the books and the correspondence in the trash, this morning i retrieved them. just for this. i may not read the books. but i may. i may not hear from these people again. it's funny how they drop in and out. fractious, the ones trying to save the park are often at odds. i don't believe anything will change in the capitalist onslaught unless the pandemic can continue and the lake rise high enough to flood the construction site while it's still a nature preserve and a park. if so let us create islands rather than towers. or the money goes elsewhere, to disaster relief. because that's the focus now, even if the nefarious projects of money men want their entitled precedence and their imminent domain in the preserve of nature.
