if around 50% of the brain is hard-wired and 50% is soft-wired can the soft-wiring soften the hard? it seems encouraging that 50% is soft throughout life, and the hard doesn't necessarily continue to harden and doesn't necessarily have to dominate the soft. maybe the soft is in truth more supple and more resilient. maybe the hard will yield like the sea wall to the continual influence of the live water. the wall is clearly meant to erode. anyway it's 50-50 odds. anyway it's not gambling. it's nice work if you get it.
