i thought, well this could be viewed as an affront to spook, but i wanted to pretend to wear his crown, not to be spook, nor even to imitate, i don't even know the spook, but just to play with the notion of being a dude named spook. listen, i had a relative named spook. i asked grandma weezie why and she looked at me funny, i never questioned why, there were several spooks actually. i think it must a been a nickname hicks called each other. i think the spook with the crown in the city is a different thing than a hoosier spook. i like to think they referred to ghosts, and not blacks, but who knows, those spooks from sticks are really ghosts now.
