i saw it happening in my mind yesterday with charlie and it didn't happen, like a lot of things that happen there, and then today after we made these gingko lulu pictures and i handed her squeaky ball to her she dropped it on the gingko leaf blanket on the turtle duck pond and one step later was submerged. i plucked her up sputtering eyes popping and relieved and she rolled in the grass and i dried her in crinkly oak leaves. she wasn't chattering her teeth and by the time we got home she was dry again.
