the problem is people are suffering from what they are dependent upon. wendell berry

this life exhausts. the air the land the people are dependent on exhaust.
the wind can be exhausted and still be wind, blowing harder.
the people can be crowded and dispossessed and poor in spirit, scoured by gentrified wind.
the wind in the people can be more violent, breathlessly.
the wind can breed dissent in people whose anger has been fueled by exhaust, by
the spent fuel of lying politicians of hopelessness and false promise, of unlimited, deathless futurity.
the point is, if there is any, when it is all exhausted, when the resource is empty, there will be a wind blowing, a corrosive wind, with the fine grit of empty words.
