i watched the last shaman last night. i thought, we don't have shamans, we have shaming. this kid hit a wall and was so depressed at what he was schooled to do in life he was suicidal. they put him on drugs and electroconvulsive shock therapy until he snapped and ran for the jungle. while we have a lot of false teachers here, in the jungle there are false shamans, and even ngo's to capitalize on confounded seekers. but this kid was determined. the same thing his doctor parents implanted in his brain drove his consciousness to find something better than their design for living. he found suffering and he found joy. he wasn't exactly healed, he said, but he was cured of the infectious disease of material success. ayahuasca talked to him, and said it's not up to the plants, it's up to you. he came back smiling, he returned, laughing.
