oh also did i mention the mill and the cross, by lech majewski? it's a stunningly beautiful film, also an investigation, of breugel's procession to calvary painting. the painting is beautiful in itself, but the film goes inside the painting and meditates on every event, person and animal within it, and god the miller with his mountain windmill grinding on looking down from above and stopping the world at crucial moments for the painter to capture. just remarkable.
