i used to take piles of cd's to trade at the record store for gems i might find. i'm listening now to one that grew out of jewelled antler, which is a box set decorated with plastic jewelled antlers sitting in my closet at my old crib.
there was something else i meant to say but i forgot but i remember a thought in the kitchen this morning, something about porous borders, how all borders are porous, our skin, our minds, our countries. we can't keep the world out. then as i left mister's house a thought about something said in generation wealth i forgot in the early post and put in a draft to remind me that chris hedges had said in the movie, how civilization is at it's most opulent disconnected desperate state just before collapsing. watching that documentary, and i know it was about the extreme edge, but we are all right on the edge perforce, and watching the street i see exactly what he means. i look at my handwritten note back home and it says societies accrue their greatest wealth at the moment they face death.
