i wondered if pebble beach was still the same withal the change. it is. it's still the same thin place. yet changed. the changes add something, and also what's missing adds something, and until they erase it it will continue to charm and delight. 

 juneteenth and hilde is gone. the mystery of here and gone continues. we miss her now. it feels good to say we're still here.
