 As a monumental mega-infrastructure (Lesutis 2022a), the OPC bulldozes its way into the urban morphology of Chicago’s South Side—both in a literal sense of the term through the destruction and valorisation of significant acres of park space in Jackson Park and into everyday life in South Shore where fear of housing affordability, gentrification, and displacement has mobilised large parts of the community against the project.
