in the book IN LOVE WITH THE WORLD he mentions a british train conductor's cap someone gave him that says MIND THE GAP (between the train and the platform). i think about the violinist who lost her leg that way while clinging to her instrument, saving her instrument, losing her leg. and she's still playing i believe. i think about the ads for the gap, FALL INTO THE GAP, and why would you want to do that, falling into the gap is something that happens, but to seek it, to fall into it, i don't get that ad. i think of the generation gap. we all fall into that. i think the gap in thought is something that falls into me, it's an interruption in between thoughts that you can't see coming that's a windfall, that's free.
