the world's so sick and sad lulu, i can talk to you, right, you don't mind, you don't see the sickness and the sadness, what a blessing. we saw a film about the last man in mossville, a town that was founded by ex-slaves. a company that was founded in apartheid south africa specifically targeting black communities, taking over their land and giving them cancer and a pittance for their homes, take it or leave it, you stay you die, you probably have cancer anyway, how you gonna pay for that, take it and get out, it's ours now. the last man was holding out and fighting a lost cause against the giant corporation with bulldozers massing all around his little fenced plot until he falls down in the yard, ears bleeding, and decides he better sell or they'll just bulldoze over his dead body. and this is what's happening everywhere, from south africa to palestine to south chicago. i see what they mean when they say ignorance is a blessing, but you can't not know this evil, if you have your senses intact and you can't un-know. sure, you can go swim with the dog but you'll be wondering what kind of hellish deals are brewing and what's in the water. and what it means to live without hope in a world where money determines life and death and anything and eventually everything goes.
