today i learned the word akrasia and it means incontinence, or lack of mastery. akrastics act against their own interests. i was wondering if crazy comes from akrasia. crazy once mean diseased, sickly, supposedly now obsolete. then broken, impaired, full of cracks or flaws. and eventually deranged demented of unsound mind or behaving as so. in the jazz age it meant cool, exciting. that all still fits today, with akrasia, in the sickfucktrumpian age.
