i was talking to ron the front door man, about cars. he was watching a parade of vehicles on youtube. he loves cars. i didn't have the heart to say i loathe cars, so i talked about my first car, a one owner garage kept low mileage red ford fairlane that was like a canopied bed on wheels back when there were still drive-ins. oooh. it seems like such an anomaly now, a fossil fuel guzzling internal combustion auto-saur. i should have told him i stopped driving in 1984 and now i'm the radical cyclist who kicks and thumps heedless autopilots in crosswalks. i'm the guy who posted that post about cars this morning, and thumped a quarter panel this afternoon. i think of ron watching that stream of vintage vehicles split screened with me watching the perilous highway parade bordering the imperiled nature sanctuary.
