last night we watched dogs, a series. the first episode we quietly cried seeing kids with all kinds of troubles meeting their helper dogs. then a refugee from damascus in turn rescues his dog zeus after two years. then a dog named ice who fishes with his dad and watches over the town gets older and sometimes doesn't want to go fishing. the theme of all dog stories is cooperation, help, rescue. the plain fact of a dog tugs my heart and makes me want to cry. dogs are what humans could and can be. dogs show us the way to live. with ourselves, with dogs. to live with our dogs.
