orange x marked trees yesterday. today they still stand, in x reprieve, or bureacratic lassitude, which can be good for children and other living things. neglect will be the only salvation now destruction looms large. but i approached with sorrow in anticipation of the dreaded act, a hollow feeling with a glowing orange x in my solar plexus. but the fish swim today and the trees bear witness, marked as mute witnesses to their own impending demise. a reprieve? no, the dread persists and i perversely felt sunk in the stasis which is not stasis but rest, hibernation, natural ignorance of fate. for me who knows the force of the blows coming, it's psychological torture, whether bureaucratic lassitude, ineptitude, misapropriation of funds taken from people without choice. we live in microcosms disconnected.
