i took lulu this afternoon without treats and she did pretty good. i kept talking to her and she kept turning to look back at me, like wud you say? when she pulled i stopped and gave a tug back occasionally saying easy easy and i think she started to get what easy means. sometimes she does easy naturally and it feels good to walk along quietly and companionably. when an exciting encounter looms i just pull her aside and let her observe a moment as say ok ok let's go lu. and she goes. before she'd be rearing backwards.
my feet were tender so i was not going to be pulled today but i conveyed that calmly and she stayed calm, calmish, calm for lulu.
