i know it's nuts but it's true and it's based on empirical experience, i'm actually afraid of buying more new and improved rain gear. it's like my old cold shower, i'm so used to suffering, i like what i know doesn't work, and i fear the new more expensive gear that does not work. nuts, right? but like that animal in the jungle book says, try, try again. or was it sam beckett. i pray for insight and truth in advertising but i am agnostic about the god of commerce, to understate the obvious. i just imagined, like, we wore the hides of animals, what if we were able to make coats grown from the genes of our own skin. maybe we could each have our own brand of rain gear, like dugskin, and maybe that would provide our own special proof about water. but i reckon it might be more than i can afford.
