i didn't expect to get to the park again with comet but when he turned that direction i knew that's where he wanted to go. i saw a person and a dog that were familiar and she asked about comet and i asked her dog's name and it's alice and from that i knew the person is elizabeth. comet was chewing grass along the fence and didn't seem to notice alice, and alice was pointed on but then she responded to me briefly without much ado. elizabeth doesn't remember, and i remembered that each time we met it was the same. it took me a little while to remember, but i knew she couldn't. today she asked if i was a teacher. i told her i just walk dogs and she asked if i could make a living like that. we talked about all the cataclysms and deaths this past year. i don't know if she remembers the pandemic, but she said yeah, she's getting divorced after 25 years. she'd like to find an intelligent man she says. that's tricky, i say.
