we thought the park was forever. we were allowed to dream it was a democracy, or it was a park, but nothing lasts forever, it erodes as it's built, cataclysmically and incrementally. now we know democracy like land may be underutilized, it may become a transaction it may be taken as real estate. it was a native waterland, then it was a park for settlers rest, now it's repurposed as obama's place.
