we went to to the goose lake prairie nature area. you have to drive through some ugly human scapes to get there and the autopilots are insane. once you get there you hear bird song and insect wind and your feet. we saw a lot of pelicans and a northern harrow hawk and some cute kinda ducks. the log cabin was adorbs, but it was rotted bad and they tried to save it with foam and cement. they should let a poor cabin die with grace. i guess they raised six kids in there. the photo blind is creepy. r. said don't go in there and i put my head in as she was saying it and something dropped on my head and i was creeped. plus you can take a better picture outside. the windows were steamed and dripping. we got hot but we didn't get surly. we had snacks.
i put a note with before and after trees pictures in for the article on the destruction of jackson park but i bet they don't print it. who cares.
this thing with obama i know it's like beating an old dead sway-backed horse mercilessly and endlessly but i'm just gonna say this land grab will go down the wrong side of his story as a destruction rather than an enhancement. that's all i'm gonna say.
i almost forgot the spider after rudely invading her space. i'm told there is no such thing as a harrow hawk but i like the name better than the real one which is similar in sound and sense enough to leave it the way it is plus i ate part of a mary jane cookie.
