me and lulu walked an hour and a half around woodlawn by the places me and the beagle barak obama used to walk. we saw a lot of brand new homes and some old ones that seemed to wear expressions of fear, but that might be my imagination. nonetheless there was a feeling in the air all around of done deals. at the point we turned around, by the obama inaugural gala mosaic where i made a picture of beagle barak standing on the old tiled foundation of a razed house, i thought of the tiny-tiny obama hope library and wondered if it was still there.
it was, and it was restored. a fellow was having lunch beside it and i asked if he'd mind if i got a picture and i wouldn't put him in. he said oh, that's alright and i put him in. i told him i'd photographed lulu there years ago when the front window was busted out. now it's been restored and the fundation center still unbuilt.
i want to keep on picturing how a tiny-tiny library grew into a tower liebrary in the park.
