after i took this picture i saw a resident sitting in his little yard with his mini-grill facing the obama center ground zero. he smiled and said good day. then i saw two fellows sitting on their little balcony. one said yo and looking at me or down in my general direction and then said they act like nothing's going on, and i didn't know if he was talking to me. i had just been thinking i wish i could talk to them and ask what do you think is going to happen when the tower goes up across the street? will you still be living here? but i'm a white guy they say and i'm afraid i'll be seen as the gentrifier when i'm already here and if i lived there i'm certain i'd be the gentrified, and i want to show solidarity but i know we're not the same, and it makes me sad on walk home.
