a small group of people who want to save jackson park are coming down monday for a tour of the affected (and threatened) areas and i'm thinking i don't know what good it will do other than memorial and it's good to commit to memory before loss although i know what we'll be missing there may be more to learn, and solidarity, of sharing loss and memory, that's a good thing, but i almost want to resign myself to the inevitable devastation money and power bring. i've kicked against the pricks so long, and people much more active than i, and i don't think in a financial system like this anyone or anything can stop the forces of real estate and war that threaten to destroy not only the local nature but all life. the thing is the pricks are the system and it's so pervasive we can kick til we drop, but we can't kick it, we can't kick the system. the only thing to kick this is global collapse, which is rapidly being engineered. i'll try to wend my way to meet the pilgrimage between walks.
