Slow down so you can breathe and see clearly. One of the main ways to let go of past pain is to slow down and teach the mind to feel your emotions without making them bigger than they originally appear. Cultivating the ability to pause so you can intentionally decide to respond essentially means that you are training yourself to not react impulsively. Teaching yourself non-reaction is how you take power away from the hurt you carry, this helps you regain the ability to observe and make new choices. If you feel stressed by difficult situations or by the speed of society, remember that you can slow down and take your time to decide what the best path forward is for you.
