i was going to say the word of the day is scalawag and then i looked it up and it refers to white southerners who were anti-slavery. it came to mind when i saw this dude shuffle his dog to the side and then proceeded to walk by us scowling at me like i was a miscreant or a scoundrel or a scalawag while i was just presuming to walk past peacefully sharing the sidewalk. people are wtf's sometimes, but i'll call them the minority, though they may loom large in my consciousness betimes. anyway i guess i would be a scalawag and i'm thankful it's not reconstruction times when the klan would hang me. nota bene, the above was a fun interaction. i didn't take a picture of the scowling one.
