it won't be by water or by fire; it will be both, and the water will not be simple water nor the fire simply fire. 
there won't be a way to vote for justice, environmental-animal-human, there will be no protection and no peace, there will be protests and repression and more protests and in the end what the living will have is the tenaciously fragile web and herd immunity trembling beyond understanding. i miss you, mister, my sweet sweet honey boy.
