the american machine


at this point, now we are at a point where there’s more killing, less oversight, more secrecy, less public accountability — and the american public, i think, really need to finally have a debate, a reckoning, about what this program is in our names and the harm it is causing.
...what it comes down to is the fact that the u.s. has a policy in which the executive branch, the president claims the unilateral authority to kill suspects far from any battlefield without any due process at all. and that has been, is, continues to be a very, very dangerous thing with respect to rights rule of law, outcome, strategy, whichever perspective you want to look at it from.
