we have to be very careful from disassociating what's happening in palestine from what's happening in the eastern mediterranean as a whole, what in arabic we call the mashriq. the whole political system that was built after the first world war by the colonialist powers is disintegrating not only in israel and palestine, but also in syria, and also lebanon and jordan are in a precarious moment in their history, and that's why i keep thinking that this is the end of that period, not the beginning of something new, and any change in that political structure is also something that would benefit palestine.
