maybe the spur to thinking about kindness came out of the film kinds of kindness. i'm sure the kids didn't see that. they were just thinking about people being kind to one another, thinking about a building a community of kindness. i know the teacher was helping them think about this. i also was unkind to r. about overdue books and i needed to apologize for harping on returning a book, when it doesn't matter, there is time, i can relax and let r. read in r.'s time, and also we both note that the library is still saying i have materials that i returned two weeks ago. the point i want to come around to is kindness. how do we be kind?
