charlie ran up to a squirl and the squirl, rather than jumping into the birch trees, got the zoomies and ran around in little circles with a surprised charlie playing along. finally the squirl zoomied off and up a pine tree, and i when i went in for a look was at my eye level with a dizzy expression hugging the tree. i talked to a fellow later whose dog is a huge squirl fan and he said he's seen squirls get the zoomies too.
