 word of the day: paroxysm.

i went to the farmer's market with a heavy heart. it's so expensive and the lines are long for the best stuff so i go early to get in line but the best stuff is in another long line. trader joe is expensive too actually when you get rotten produce that goes straight to the compost. the market's local at least but i think they use pesticides, no one says organic. once i heard sustainable blueberries but i don't know what that means. sustenance i guess. til next week. and it was soul hot at nine o'clock. then i have to walk by the obama construction and my heart gets heavier along with my red bag. the wasted space. cats are already crying for the third feed, 9:45, and i think the lake is calling me. in the last book i read the water protectors heard crying and went to see and it was the river.

in the city i hear the river of life crying in the sound of machines.
