i sent a letter to jenni monet (indigenously) a while ago and thought she was too busy to reply but today she did and it feels good. i responded,
hi jenni,
thank you for your kind reply. i have read the pro publica story of obama and co. and the vanishing beaches of hawaii, and the disturbance of indigenous burial sites.
it seems everywhere the obamas go they encroach on the commons.
in chicago i've gotten used to the rich settlers and developers having whatever suits them, and being an artist i was always being displaced.
and then i settled here and started walking dogs and met my partner on wooded island with the birdwatchers.
i found my place i think, and now i feel ithe sanctuary will be turned into a theme park, and like with enbridge they are doing as much construction as they can
before the protect our parks lawsuit has a hearing.
i know there are so many injustices to the land and people, and feel they're all connected, and others are beginning to notice the web of life is similarly threatened
by multiple assaults everywhere.
please tell me some sea change is coming — i know the sea (and the lake) is rising. let the people rise too.
i have a vision of kayaking around his submerged ill-uminated white conning tower in the lagoon-inland sea of the ill-named jackson park.
i don't wanna live in obamaland, he cried.
thanks for listening to our stories, and sharing yours,
in love and peace and the spirit of endurance and natural life,
doug
