there must have been many seahorses in kids' collections, and this was another kid's who must be old now, or gone, and the kid's seahorse may have been forgotten long since the kid was a kid but it remained in the musty basement waiting for years for me to pick it up and remember my little kid seahorse and wonder if another kid grown old like me found mine while missing his. so much of our kid stuff gets thrown away and rarely comes back echoed tangibly in another kid's.
i'd like to think all the kids' seahorses died natural deaths after full seahorse lives, but i fear they were taken live, because they are so fragile. i wouldn't buy a seahorse now, unless it was already bought long ago by some other kid. i feel bad for the seahorse, but glad for the daydreams the seahorse made me dream.
