i decided i best give mister a bath before bringing him to r. place. i noted he was trailing synthetic fluff down the hall and wondered. i saw a black thread hanging from his mouth and pulled, and pulled, i could feel it like a fishing line with some resistance. at the end was a ball of black fabric. i saw the the ring toy, about 5/8ths remaining. he's been coughing the last couple days and i suspect he may have ingested some synthetic fluff and nylon thread.
so note to dog lovers of dogs who love too much the chew toys. please resist the fabric ones with squeakers, as the dog naturally wants to get the squeaker, just as we wanted to get the prize at the bottom of the sugar pops, and will eat the thing to attain the prize, which will squeak no more. if you must get your dog a chew ring you might consider those really tough rubber ones. also if you have a dog that has some confusion between play and aggression, you might want to forgo the tug-of-war type of toy. in your dog's name, thanks.
