they came with a dump truck and hauled away the living arrangement of the fellow living under the train tracks at 57th, sarah said. i used to go that way with lulu before i decided to steer her away from the more tricky areas. course it's all tricky everywhere. she spooked today at a whirl of little yellow leaves spinning down the alley in the wind. anyway, sarah wondered where the fellow will go. they swept the two fellows out from under spider bridge i said, and they were back the following day. now they're rebuilding the bridge with the guys living under it. imagine jackhammers on your roof. they have to clean the detritus up around here, with all the big investors, towers, hotels, amazon foods, the affluent don't want to step around the displaced malingerers. homelessness, i tell sarah, won't be tolerated in obombaland.
i saw the video of the eviction. they were dumping everything into a garbage truck and crushing all the man's possessions, apparently with no warning. i went back and watched again to count the number of public servants required to evict one peaceful man. i counted 14. four were doing the work, the garbage crew, and the rest were there with guns and tazers to step in if he resisted. he tried to hold back some of his things, but they let him take only some blankets and clothing it looked like. i wonder what it cost the taxpayers to dump this poor peaceable human being.
