it is laughable how slovenly people are, each holding on to a different view. they just want to stand by the pan, expecting a pancake; they do not see how to go back to the root and see the flour. the flour is the root of right and wrong; it changes in a hundred ways, depending on how people prepare it.
what is needed is to free the intellect in all ways, not to become partial or obsessed. freedom from attachment is itself liberation; if you seek anything, you will again meet a snare. with a loving heart, be evenhanded to all, and the enlightenment of reality as such will spontaneously appear; if you keep a dualistic consciousness of others and self, you will not see the face of buddha right in front of you.
