he went back to working from life... there was a time when the human form became no bigger than a pin, and, reduced almost beyond its ultimate minimum, was barely able to withstand the onslaught of the void. then, slowly, after the war, new figures began to emerge, elongated effigies rooted to their bases with enormous feet, superbly arresting in their immobility.
